December Stuff (with a little January thrown in):  We will be open through Monday, December 19th and then reopen on Thursday, January 5th. We hope everyone enjoys the Holidays!
 The Hangover Classic in Richmond will be on Jan 21st and 22nd, I am including it in the December stuff because the fees are much lower the earlier you sign up! $35/event with paid AskFred registration until 1/8, $70 through 1/18, and $110 at the door! So, if you would like to go, it is worth it to sign up early!  Hangover Classic   They have mixed events as well  women's only and D and under events!

Congratulations To Michelle and Zach! They both did a great job at the Thanksgiving Throwdown this weekend in Richmond! Michelle took 10th in C & Under Senior Mixed Saber and in foil, Zach took home 18th in C & Under Mixed Foil and 8th in Unrated Senior Mixed Foil! Awesome work to you two!

Our saber squad was at it again, this time at the Solstice Smash 2016 in Arlington, Va this weekend! Sharon took 2nd and Emily took 3rd in  Y12 saber, and Devin took 5th in Cadet saber! Congratulations to all of you on a job well done!

May news: We have no scheduled closings this month.
 The Coastal Clash at Tidewater Fencing Club is May 7th and 8th.  This is a great tournament for beginners as it has youth and ratings restricted events. It also has an open epee event. $25 preregistered and $35 unregistered. Coastal Clash

We are back on schedule for Thursday, they have everything fixed. No one was injured, they were fixing the bank of lights and it caught on fire, they had no way to put it out because the ceiling is too high in the gym.

Everyone did a great job at the tournaments this weekend!
Tidewater Open:
Cadet Mixed Foil- Zach took 2nd. He did an amazing job in pools and the D.E. round.
Senior Mixed Foil - Scott took 2nd. He won his 1st 3 D.E.'s  and then came close in the final round.
Senior Mixed Epee - Abby took 20th. She is doing a wonderful job with the senior fencers. Ed took 5th, got a Bye for his first D.E. and won his 2nd, then faced Scott. Geoff took 15th, Won his 1st D.E. and then faced Scott. Scott took 1st, making a clean sweep of the pools and D.E.'s
Senior Mixed Saber - Michelle took 3rd. She won her 1st D.E  her 2nd was against the winner.
Fantastic job everyone!
Capital Fencing - Musketeer Circuit #3:
Y10 Men's Saber- Leo took 2nd.
Y12 Men's Saber- Leo took 12th.
Y12 Women's Saber - Emily took 5th and Sharon took 3rd
Y14 Women's Saber - Diana took 5th, Emily took 6th and Sharon took 7th.
Our young saber squad did an excellent job!

Congratulations to all our fencers this weekend at River City Rumble. Abby, Chloe, and Zach all fenced in the senior divisions against some very tough competition. Abby and Chloe (in her first tournament) fenced in the C and Under Senior Mixed Epee and finished 21st and 22nd, they did a great job against seasoned fencers! Zach fenced in the E and Under Senior Mixed Foil and finished 25th also against seasoned fencers! Our young ones are carving their way into the tournament scene! Great job to all of you!

this is the case, refund requests must be made by 1/26/2016. No shows
will only be able to receive refunds due to extenuating circumstances

There have been some announcements in regard to this weekends Hangover Classic as follows:
TWO MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE HANGOVER
1. The Regular Fee Deadline has been extended until 1/21/2016
2. We are aware of the chance of a major storm impacting the area, and we will be watching the weather carefully, and send out an announcement on Friday whether the event will be held or not. If we decide to postpone the Hangover, we will move it to the following weekend.
