Congratulations to all of our fencers who fenced the Thanksgiving Throwdown this weekend!  In the E & under senior mixed foil, Aaron took 5th and Alan took 9th. In the Unrated senior mixed foil, Aaron placed 3rd. Great job guys! In the C & under senior mixed foil, Zach took 8th and earned his E17,  awesome job!

The Thanksgiving Throwdown is this weekend. Good luck on Saturday to Aaron and Alan in the E & under senior mixed foil.   On Sunday, good luck goes out to Aaron and Zach in unrated senior mixed foil and Zach in Div 2 senior mixed foil! 

November stuff: We will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23rd for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Throwdown

The William & Mary Halloween Open is on Oct. 28th & 29th at the W & M student rec center.  $30 preregistered $45 day of. Preregistration closes on Oct 26th. Cash or check only.  W&M Halloween Open

August stuff: No scheduled closings this month.

It is time to renew your USA Fencing membership! Remember that we need ALL fencers to have a current USA Fencing membership for insurance purposes! The $10 non-competitive membership is sufficient for those fencers who don not wish to compete. One thing to note is that they now charge a $10 fee if you want a membership card sent to you, you can, however, print your card out yourself, you do not have to purchase the card.

Our next beginner class will start on Monday, Aug 7th and run through Thursday, Aug 31

Children 8 or 9 years old must have an adult take the class with them. 10 and older may take the class by themselves. Adults of all ages welcome!

Class is $50 (+15 for additional family member)

rental is $30

glove purchase $11 for a total of $91 ($147 for two)

Gear sets may also be purchased instead of renting if you prefer, they start at $116.

Also membership at USA Fencing is required for all fencers for our insurance purposes, the $10 non-competitive membership is sufficient for that.

Sorry I'm a little late on June announcements! : We have no scheduled closings this month.
The Richmond Tune-Up Open is June 17th & 18th. There will be senior mixed foil, epee, and saber events. There will also a Y12 mixed foil event as well as a D-under senior mixed foil event. $25 preregistered, $30 non-preregistered per event.

Congratulations to our fencers who went to The Coastal Clash this weekend at Tidewater Fencing Club! Everyone did a great job! In D & under senior foil, Aaron took 15th and Ariean took 11th, both won their first DE rounds! Shane took 2nd in a very close, 13-15,  match! Awesome everyone!

May stuff:  Right now we do not have any scheduled closings, if that changes for Memorial Day I will post.
May 13th and 14th is The Coastal Clash at Tidewater Fencing Club. There will be D & under Senior Mixed Foil, D & under Senior Mixed Saber, and Senior Mixed Epee. There will also be an Unsanctioned Youth Mixed Foil (14 & under), a great way for the younger fencers to get their feet wet! Sanctioned events are $25 preregistered and $35 unregistered. Congratulations to our fencers who fenced this weekend in the Conomikes-Gutenberg Memorial Open. There was tough competition this weekend and our fencers did a great job! In Mixed Epee; Quang took 19th. In Mixed Foil; Aaron and Varnum did a fantastic job in their first tournament, finishing 19th & 24th; Ariean took 21st, Shane took 9th, and Zach took 18th! Awesome everyone!

April Stuff:  Congratulations to all our fencers who fenced this weekend at the Tidewater Open, everyone did a great job!  In Y12 Mixed Foil Trey took 5th in his first tournament! In Senior Mixed Epee, Ed took 2nd, Quang took 6th. In Senior Mixed Foil, Ariean took 13th, Scott took 5th and Shane took 8th and earned his E2017. Awesome job everyone!

February Stuff:
No scheduled closings as of now. Schools are closed on Feb 20, we are double- checking to be sure we are allowed to open, I will make a post if we have to close. 
River City Rumble is in Richmond on Feb 11th and 12th. there are C & under events for each weapon as well as an E & under mixed foil and a Y12 foil. $30 per event preregistered, $35 at the door. Preregistration closes on 2/11/17River City Rumble

Congratulations to our fencers who made it out to the 2017 Hangover Classic in Richmond this weekend.  Zach fenced both D & under Senior mixed foil and Senior mixed foil and took 27th in both events.  Our newest Club member, Quang, fenced D & under Senior mixed foil and took 5th. And in Senior Mixed epee Bryce took 14th and Scott took 2nd!  Awesome job guys! Great start to 2017!

In case everyone didn't catch it, we were given permission to be open tonight even though school was closed today for MLK Day

We have just been told that the school will be closed Monday, so there will be no Club Monday. Stay safe and warm and we'll see you on Thursday!

January Stuff: Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  It's time to get back on strip and have some fun! We have missed everyone, you should all be rested and energized now! We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces on Thursday!
